Assisted Quarterdeck in growing from $1.7
million gross sales in 1987 to $52 million in 1993.
Introduced QEMM, which in the second quarter of 1990,
outsold every other retail software program in the
world. The company achieved a market capitalization of
$600 million in 1994
Developed
strategies to introduce Apple II as the first true
personal computer. Managed development of the Apple
logo and brand character. Drafted the company's first
Marketing Plan.
Established the groundbreaking positioning (used as a
Harvard Business School case study) of the Suzuki
Samurai. Subsequent demand exceeded Suzuki's
production planning by 300%. Judged on launch goals,
Suzuki was the most successful vehicle brand launch in
1986 (vs. Hyundai, Acura, and others).
Launched CyberMedia with initial strategies,
collateral, advertising and package designs. From
prior to initial shipment of their first product,
First Aid for Windows, through the launch of First Aid
95. At that time, CyberMedia became the largest
publisher in the utility software category, worldwide,
with a market cap reaching $300 million.
In 1999, created a services-focused marketing plan for
MatchNet which has since grown from the fourth to the
second largest Internet dating services company in the
world. Negotiated first Chinese mainland portal for
MatchNet.
Created marketing plans for Ojai Valley Inn & Spa
1994 - 1999, helping reposition it from a golf
destination to one of the top five destination
spa/resorts in the U.S.
Suggested the "Artesian" campaign, which captured the
Olympia Beer account for Chiat/Day and generated
extraordinary awareness and trial rates. This was the
campaign that brought Chiat/Day to national
prominence.
Repositioned SatisFusion from a "technology company"
to a marketing company. Established new
pricing/product structure. Aided in closing a $7.5
million funding round in September, 2001.
